Personal Background
I am living my dream on a homestead in eastern Arizona surrounded by family, animals, friends, fresh air and wide-open views. I am intimately familiar with the transition from city life to the homestead and self-sustaining life. I had always wanted to live in the country but after a divorce at an early age, I transitioned to Las Vegas, Nevada where I was able to secure employment that allowed me to begin facing the demons of my past.
After years working the self-help section of the bookstore I encountered the Creator of the Universe, Jesus. He called me and saved me and brought me into a new understanding of how to live the life He had designed for me. He helped me heal and grow into a healthy and balanced, far from perfect, woman of God – working out my faith.
I was a single mom for 18 years and have and am raising a fantastic young man. Two years ago, I made the leap and pursued online dating. I was clear and concise in my desire but also deferred to God’s leading. Through eHarmony, I met and married my husband, and we began the search for our homestead. After 30 years in the city, I moved to rural eastern Arizona with my new husband, my son and my husband’s three youngest in tow.
The journey has been epic and continues on…
Professional Background
I began my working career in food service at the young age of 15 and then moved into retail management, worked my way up the ladder to store manager but felt the constraints of my time not being my own. From there I crashed into entrepreneurship; begun in desperation as a single mother of a newborn and being the only parent but also needing to be provider I had to have work that had flexibility to allow me the time to care for my son.
I scraped together a bookkeeping business based on my limited experience with data entry accounting. From there the business grew and sustained my boy and I quite well for over a decade. It was then God called me to “get the authority to go with my gifting”.
You see, I had been doing nutritional and lay counseling (coaching) on the side while running my then external CFO business helping entrepreneurs get their businesses formed and profitable. I returned to college and gained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in therapy. I am licensed as a Clinical Professional Counselor in Nevada and Arizona, with my training being in marriage and family therapy.
I own my own business as a therapist, life coach and homesteader. I look forward to meeting you and beginning our journey working together – to help you live your best life.
